The Croatian passport has been ranked 8th among the world's most powerful passports for 2026 in the newly published Henley Passport Q2 Index, which assesses 199 passports based on visa-free travel access. The index, released on 1 July and compiled by consultancy Henley & Partners, is based on official data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Croatia shares 8th place with Estonia, as holders of both passports can travel visa-free to 182 countries. Singapore retained first place, with visa-free access to 192 of 227 destinations worldwide. Second place is shared by Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (up from eighth) with 188 countries, followed by Sweden in third with 187.

Fourth place is shared by a group including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain (186). Austria, Greece, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland share fifth (185), while the UK sits sixth alongside Hungary and Poland (184). Ahead of Croatia in seventh are Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Slovakia and Slovenia (183).

Just behind, ninth place goes to Liechtenstein and Lithuania (181), while Iceland and the United States share tenth (180). The ranking underlines the strong global mobility enjoyed by Croatian citizens since the country's EU and Schengen integration.
